About your First Visit

We look forward to welcoming you as a new patient at Anthem Periodontics and Dental Implants. To help you prepare, the following information explains what to expect during your first appointment.

When you arrive, a member of our administrative team will welcome you and collect any necessary introductory information. You will then meet with a clinical team member before speaking with Dr. De Andrade. He will review your medical and dental history, discuss your reasons for seeking care, and evaluate your current periodontal health.

Your initial periodontal examination may include:

• Digital X-rays
• Intraoral photographs
• Measurements of the gums and periodontal pockets
• Additional diagnostic procedures when necessary

Although your general dentist may have already taken X-rays, our office requires its own diagnostic images to accurately evaluate bone levels and ensure Dr. De Andrade has the information needed to prepare for your visit.

After completing the examination, Dr. De Andrade will explain your diagnosis, review any recommended treatment, discuss the anticipated timeline, and answer your questions. Understanding your condition and treatment options is an important part of achieving a successful outcome.

Preparing for Your Appointment

Please bring the following items:

• Completed new patient paperwork
• Referral slip, when applicable
• Photo identification
• Dental insurance card

Patients who have not completed their paperwork in advance should arrive 30 minutes before their scheduled appointment.

We make every effort to remain on schedule and respect each patient’s time. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, your appointment may need to be rescheduled.

Treatment costs and financial arrangements may also be discussed during your visit. You are welcome to bring anyone who helps you make healthcare or financial decisions, as this may make it easier to move forward with scheduling treatment.

Please contact our office before your appointment if you develop a fever, cough, respiratory symptoms, loss of taste or smell, or another contagious illness. Rescheduling may be necessary to protect the health of our patients and team.
